Every Child Deserves To Be Heard: Forensic Interviewing Program

Our project, "Every Child Deserves to Be Heard," supports the Advocacy Center's Forensic Interviewing Program.

Imagine being a child who has experienced something frightening or confusing, and then being asked to explain what happened to several different strangers. For a child who may have experienced abuse, finding the words can be incredibly difficult.

Our specially trained forensic interviewers provide children with a safe, welcoming environment where they can share their experiences in their own words. The interview is conducted in a neutral, developmentally appropriate manner, while authorized investigative professionals can observe from another room. This coordinated approach reduces the need for children to repeatedly recount potentially traumatic experiences while providing important information to those responsible for their protection. Sometimes the first step toward healing begins with simply being heard.
