Welcome
The Rotary Club of Galveston Island is a local service organization made up of business owners, professionals, community leaders, and residents who volunteer their time and resources to address needs throughout Galveston and Galveston County. We are a chapter of Rotary International and operate under the principle of “Service Above Self.”
Our work combines hands-on volunteer service, fundraising, grants, and partnerships with local nonprofit organizations. The club provides a way for people from different professional and community backgrounds to work together on practical projects that benefit our community. Becoming a member of Rotary International means joining a global network of 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change.
Meeting Attendance
Members attend weekly meetings on Tuesday at 12:00 p.m at the San Luis Resort. While attendance is not mandatory, Members are encouraged to attend as many meetings as possible as well as participate in Club community events. Members may also remain in good standing by making up missed meetings at any other Rotary club. Notice must be given to the Rotary Club of Galveston Island’s secretary, where the member attended, to make up his/her absence. Make-up attendances must be timely in relation to the absence. For instance, if you miss the club’s regular Tuesday meeting, you should make up the absence before the club’s next regular meeting. All members are encouraged to achieve perfect attendance by avoiding absences and making absences up when necessary.

Financial Commitment
Members are obligated to pay for dues and meals on a quarterly basis. Each quarterly charge of $350.00 covers local club dues, weekly lunches as well as all Rotary International member expenses. Quarterly billing dates are July 1, October 1, January 1, and April 1. Payment should be remitted within 10 days from the date of the bill. The first bill is prorated for new members based upon when they join the club.
Fundraising
Members are obligated to contribute to the club’s fundraising efforts. Currently, this includes securing a minimum of two $200 hole sponsors for the club’s annual golf tournament. Proceeds from the Rotary Club of Galveston’s fundraisers are used to support our charitable causes in our community.
Corporate Membership
Corporate memberships available! This is a membership arrangement that allows a business or organization to have multiple employees participate in the same Rotary club, rather than treating each employee as an entirely separate corporate relationship. A corporate membership can be useful because it allows a local business to make Rotary participation part of its community engagement program. For example, a company might designate several employees who can attend meetings, participate in service projects, support fundraising efforts, and represent the company within the Rotary network. This gives the business a broader presence while giving Rotary access to additional volunteers and professional expertise.
