Corlie Jackson
President, Galveston County League of Woman Voters

Corlie Jackson is the president of the recently re-established League of Women Voters of Galveston and was the spark for resurrecting the LWV. Under her leadership, the LWV successfully hosted voter registration events in every high school within the Galveston County service area simultaneously on September 19th in celebration of the National Voter Registration Day and similar events at all public libraries and college campuses in October for National Voter Education Week. The League is a 501(c)3 non-profit, non-partisan civic organization that encourages informed and active participation in our government, through voter outreach initiatives, voter registration, voter education and trusted impartial information about elections and major public policy issues.

You may know her from her work with Galveston County Mutual Assistance Partnership as Marketing Director or from St. Vincent’s House, working with her husband Executive Director, Michael Jackson, who retired in 2014. Corlie has been a servant leader and advocate for human/civil rights, social justice, and racial reconciliation since her arrival in 1999 with her family.
